Then, when Bill Clinton responded to that, he accused Clinton of being racist.

Then, he has his surrogates (like Spike Lee) inject racism into a phony fight only to have him say “I’m going to take the high road and not argue this. Peace and Love” before the people they accused of being racist had a chance to respond. Yeah, we all missed that (ROTFL)

I think the American public (along with many of his own supporters, barring Christina and other hard core Kool Aid junkies) are beginning to see that this phony is nothing more than an ordinary, garden variety politician. The primary is over. Barack Obama has won. That’s old news.

The problem is that many Clinton supports have been reluctant to get with the program. Take Wisconsin DNC delegate Debra Bartoshevich for instance. She said Thursday. “I believe that Hillary is the better candidate of all of them.” I appreciate Ms. Bartoshevich’s opinion. Hell, I might have even agreed with her at one point. But that time is long past.

Anyone who supported Hillary Clinton did so because of several reasons – including but not limited to – her outstanding positions on issues such as universal health care, ending the war in Iraq and restoring America’s standing in the world. Well, news flash! Barack Obama shares just about every one of those positions.

Another factor, of course, is Hillary’s womanhood. A lot of people think it’s high time we had a women president. I agree. It’s a shame the country has gone so long without a leader representing more than half the country’s population. Hillary’s fans are angry and upset that Obama knocked out the opportunity to let a woman run the show. True, there will not be a Democratic women president come November. Well, I hate to break it to them, but John McCain is also not a woman.

So, unless those supporters have radically changed their positions – how can they justify voting for John McCain? He shares just about nothing in common with Hillary Clinton. But MSNBC’s Howard Finemen reported today Clinton’s donors are wary of sending money Barack Obama’s way. A recent AP poll showed 23% of Hillary voters do not support Obama either.

Why? Do they no longer support universal heath care? Have they switched on Iraq and now advocate staying for 100 years? Do they support more tax cuts for the mega-rich? How about more conservative justices on the already extremely right-leaning Supreme Court?

Political passion runs rampant these days. After 8 years of George Bush, it’s amazing to see so many people still engaged in the process. 18 million people felt strongly enough about fixing this country to vote for Hillary Clinton in the primary season. Now they are bitter their candidate lost. Losing sucks, no doubt. But, you know, four more years of Bush – McCain politics sucks way more.

So unless you flip-flopped on every important issue… unless you no longer care about getting this country in shape… unless you want four more years…

It’s time for unity.

I can only presume to speak only for myself, so I can only justify my own decision. I supported Hillary Clinton because of her centrist position and leadership ability, as well as her track record.

Of the two contenders left for POTUS, McCain remains the only trustworthy choice. I don’t agree with some of his policies, but I didn’t agree with all of Clinton’s ideas either.

My vote is for my country, not a political party. Upon examination, Barack Obama’s track record is dubious at best, non-existent at worst. His style of politics is far more reminiscent of the Bush Administration than McCain or Clinton’s (divisive, dishonest, long term association with unsavory people, and poor judgement). In short, I do not trust Barack Obama to lead America.

As far as citizens of other countries who call to “shut this shameful weblog down as well”, I say to either move to America, get a job, pay your federal, state and local taxes and establish citizenship so you may exercise your right as an American citizen to vote. Otherwise, the 2008 election is none of your concern.

I am not a Democrat. I am not a Republican. I am a ticket splitter who votes for the person over the party. I voted for Reagan twice and Bill Clinton twice because they were competent individuals who did good jobs. I have no party loyalty and do not like political parties.

Barack Obama is the democrats version of George W Bush. They are empty suits with nothing but marketing and slogans. In 2000 it was change…a uniter not a divider…compassionate conservatism…reformer with results. I see much of the same with this “new kind of politics.” I see the same arrogance from Mr. Obama as I do with Mr. Bush. I do not need a clone of Mr. Bush in the White House.

My first choice for president was Bill Richardson. My second choice was Hillary Clinton. They are the two most competent people running. John McCain was my third choice. I don’t agree with everything any of the candidate propose, but I like people who get things done. Bill Clinton got things done despite a Republican congress. Bill Richardson and Hillary Clinton got things done. John McCain got things done despite a hostile president. That is what I am looking for. Substance, not flash.
