Wow, a name! OOOOhhhh. Actually, that wasn’t MCCain calling her a bitch it was a woman. McCain’s failure is that he did not correct her.
It’s not courteous, but I’ve never mistaken McCain for courteous or pretended to like McCain. Calling Clinton a name is not on par with election rigging.
Nor for that matter is it on par with Obama giving her the finger, making period remarks, or implying she’s Gen. Sherman. Like McCain, he has also never corrected his supporters for their disgusting treatment of Clinton.
Why would you think this would influence any serious person?

Look at the big picture here. Sexism was flung from the Obama camp, racism was flung from the Clinton camp. Racism and sexism do not override one another, they are both disgusting. Voting for McCain will only go against what Hillary was campaigning for. Are you willing to risk four or eight (heaven forbid) years of failure, sucking this country into an even darker abyssal void? Please, think twice and reconsider, do the United States a favour and vote for the Democratic candidate.

Oh really! Well to be perfectly honest the best ticket would have been McCain and Hillary. They would be the perfect pair. Why? Because I know as a very devout Democrat that the party has gone the way of the inexperienced and almost completely off track. The party machine, Dean, Kerry, Daly, want what they think might win on a racial basis. Thats completelly idiotic. Colin Powell is entirely qualified to have run for the Presidency, but chose not too. The qualification of these two men are completely different and hopefully people would decide based on qualifications for the job. We are hiring a person to lead this country and it has been turned into a personality good looks contest. What is up America. Get real.

You know, if Clinton had won, how would you like it if the Obama supporters formed a “coalition” smearing the DNC with accusations of racism and decided, that against our better judgment, we would be voting against Hillary Clinton. What if we made T-Shirts and bumper stickers, went on television and accused Hillary of being “unelectable” and etc…

Would you ask us to vote for hillary? Or would you say, “SWEET! Yes Vote McCain.” Knowing what an uphill battle Clinton would have? Would you expect us to fall in line?

Christina,

I would respect your choice to form coalitions to support Obama, if Clinton was the presumptive nominee. I don’t “expect you to fall in line” if that is against your views. In fact I think it is very healthy to have dissenting points of view, even within parties.

We all have our reasons to vote for our candidate of choice.

I don’t begrudge Black Americans who have overwhelmingly decided to vote for Obama. And I don’t begrudge women who decided to vote for Hillary Clinton. It is not up for me to judge why.

I think it’s great that you are enthusiastic over Senator Obama. For you, his views address your concerns and hopes for the next 4 years.

For many of us, Barack Obama is not that person. We have the same enthusiasm that you do, for John McCain.

We have the right to show our support for John McCain, just as you have the right to show your support for Obama. We are democrats that are happy with our decision to vote for McCain.

That said, I welcome all posts wriiten by Dems for McCain and by Obama fans. We have different outlooks and I don’t mind reading opposing points of view. You may not change our hearts and minds, but I fully support your right to post your opinions. Anyway, what fun is it when everyone agrees with you?;)

Comment by Christina

Surely, YOU have enthusiasm for John McCain.
That is good for you.

Many, though, are simply voting AGAINST Obama.. against the word of Clinton. They are fighting FOR her, by voting AGAINST her ideals.

That is something I cannot support.

My questions to anyone supporting McCain are these:

1. How do you propose we continue to pay for the war in Iraq, preferably without bankrupting our children for decades to come.

2. How do you propose we maintain our troop levels? Our military is stretched to the breaking point, with active duty military and National Guard troops serving multiple tours in Iraq. How will we keep these levels up indefinitely?

It is very easy for people who are not in the military to sit in our comfortable homes and talk about why the war should continue. We are not the ones who are serving multiple tours in Iraq, or being forced to stay in the military because of the stop-loss policy. We are not the spouses/partners who have had to endure years without the person they love, or the children who have watched a parent leave for war time and again. It is easy to sit back and say “Yes! Continue!” when you are not the one who has to make those sacrifices. And for members of the military who think we should stay in Iraq, I may not agree with you but I respect that you are willing to fight for the things you believe in.

I truly think it is time for every person who supports this war–either because they really believe it is the right thing to be doing, or because they will vote for the candidate who wants to continue the war indefinitely, regardless of how they personally feel about the war–to step up to the plate.

If you believe that we are on the right track then join the military so you can go to Iraq and fight for what you believe in. I’m not being at all sarcastic or snotty, I’m saying that people have got to stop asking others to fight the battles that they believe in, and you certainly can’t keep asking the same people to fight again and again and again.

The people who have been serving multiple tours in Iraq, sacrificing their personal relationships, their relationships with their children, their plans for civilian life, their mental and physical health, their civilian jobs, have done enough. It is time for everyone who believes that we should stay in Iraq to have the courage of their convictions and join the military.

My vote is my own, my reasons for my vote are my own. You can whine and cry all you like.
Frankly retaliation for the disgusting behaviours of Obama’s campaign including his supporters like you would be enough of a reason to not vote for him if he and McCain were otherwise on par, but even then, Obummer comes up short: election rigging, corrupt financiers, terrorist supporters and endorsers. Obama’s not fit to be in office. I won’t vote for him ever.
You talk shit about white women all day long (even though you probably are one), you come here with the express purpose of causing annoyance, and then you wonder why we don’t want anything to do with you or your candidate. You’re fucking stupid. No one cares what you support, because you’re a fucking moron.
I don’t actually think Clinton wants her supporters to vote for Obama, either. Frankly if enough people make it clear to the superdelegates that they will vote McCain instead of Obama, they might be forced to change their support to Clinton. She has suspended her campaign: she has not turned over her delegates. If enough shit about Obummer comes out in the msm, she has a small chance. And she’s 100 times the candidate McCain is and 1,000,000 times the candidate Obama is. I’ll give her every chance possible. And if she’s not the nominee, I’ll vote McCain. He’s promised to run for only one term. Clinton can run in 2012 against whoever he picks for vp: she’ll have a good chance of winning. The DNC that interfered in this election will, with luck, be out on their collective asses where they won’t be able to attempt to rig anymore elections.
If Obama won, the DNC would put him up as the incumbent after 4 years: Clinton would have to wait until 2016. She’d be 68: not too old to run, but with a much smaller chance of success. Plus 8 years would pass in which the Repubs would be lining up likely candidates.
I’m voting McCain in 2008, and Clinton in 2012. Just like she wants me to.

HEY! Idea- Maybe she can run as a republican!

Obamabots have invaded this site. They are under the mistaken impression that all Hillary supporters are voting against McCain. That is simply not the case. While I would definitely have preferred if Hillary were the nominee, since she isn’t, I plan to make my choice between the candidates based on who I think would be the better President. In my opinion, that person is John McCain. No smears from Obamabots will change that (and in any event, I’m already well aware of those smears, as they were practiced against Hillary). I suggest that everyone go to McCain’s website and listen to his town hall meetings (which Obama refused to participate in) — McCain is a solid candidate and an honorable man.

We don’t need to smear him. McCain is the best candidate the Democrats could have hoped for. He goes on the TV daily to announce his support for Bush’s economic policies and the war in Iraq.

Remember his speech on June 3rd? With the nice lime-green backdrop he borrowed from Al-Qaeda? We have five more months of ratings-destroying speeches from that geezer until November.

Nobody is smearing John McCain- these are his issues, his policies, his words.
See, you don’t know your candidate at all.. you think this is a smear. they are not.
Obama hasn’t refused to participate in town hall meetings. The idea is to make Obama look bad. THAT is why John McCain wants town hall meetings. That is not a neutral place. That is where debates are supposed to be held., in neither territory. In swing states. Not in town halls without moderators.
This isn’t lincoln douglas.
There is not plausible reason for switching from liberal to republican because of one candidates loss.

We don’t think you are voting against McCain- we think you are voting against Obama.

McCain has years of experience behind him, which is much more than I can say about Obama. He also stands by his words, and has been willing to reach across the aisle on many occasions and to take politically unpopular positions. His recent position on the farm bill was such an instance (and I disagreed with both Obama and Hillary for supporting the farm bill). It was completely loaded with pork, which McCain has always been against, but it was a politically popular bill. It took a lot of integrity to take a stand for what is right, and not what is politically popular.

Instead of talking down McCain, why don’t Obamabots try to talk up Obama? Is it because all they can say is “Change we can believe in”?

Don’t worry guys. Obama doesn’t even need to campaign to win in the fall.

We just need 5 more months of $4/gallon gas, high unemployment, high inflation, and poorly performing stock market to seal the deal.

One thing even McCain supporters can’t refute is that the economy is the #1 issue with voters this fall by a large margin.

JOHN MCCAIN 2008 TO HOST VIRTUAL TOWN HALL WITH DEMOCRATIC AND INDEPENDENT VOTERS

For Immediate Release

Contact: Press Office

Thursday, June 12, 2008

ARLINGTON, VA — U.S. Senator John McCain’s campaign today announced that John McCain, along with RNC Victory Chair Carly Fiorina, will participate in a virtual town hall with Democrats and Independents this Saturday to discuss McCain’s record of putting country before political party. Many town hall participants are expected to be former supporters of Senator Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

The town hall is part of the campaign’s effort to build on growing support from voters who are rapidly joining “Citizens for McCain,” a new grassroots organization headed by Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT) to rally Americans of all political parties to support John McCain’s candidacy.

“The American people know I have a long record of bipartisan problem solving,” said John McCain. “They’ve seen me put our country before any president, before any party, before any special interest — and before my own interest. They might think me an imperfect servant of our country, which I surely am, but I am her servant first, last and always. I look forward to talking to voters across the country of all parties to present them with my vision for the future of our great nation.”

Obama supporters still don’t get it. Insulting remarks, constant accusations of racism, and statements like ‘just get over it’, simply antagonize those of us who voted for Clinton. It’s the same tactics you over zealous Obama supporters used from day one. I also think Obama was selected, rather than elected, and the bias media has acted shamefully. I also don’t think Obama is qualified to be President, and like millions of other Clinton supporters, I will not vote for Obama.
